عزيز:
شما، به عنوان بالاترين مقام دولت انگلستان در زمينه ی نگاهداری و
نگاهبانی از آثار فرهنگی، در ميان گنجيه هاي بشری موجود در کشور خود،
از منشوری کهن نگاهداری می کنيد که اگرچه از نظر تاريخی متعلق به
سرزمين و ملت ايران بوده و از نظر اصول و قوانين موجود متعلق به کشور
شماست اما در واقعيت بخشی از ميراث کل بشريت محسوب می شود. طبعاً، با
آگاهی و درگيری عملی به کار نگاهداری و نگاهبانی از آن مشغوليد.
اگرچه اين اثر نادر جهانی، که منشور کورش بزرگ و اولين اعلاميه ی حقوق
بشر خوانده می شود، به دليل محتوای آن، يکی از بی بديل ترين اسناد
تاريخی تمدن بشر است اکنون در موزه ی بريتانيا به خوبی نگاهداری می شود
اما نقل و انتقال هاي گهگاهی آن که می توانند به برخی ملاحظات سياسی در
ارتباط باشند، ممکن است آن را در معرض خطر نابودی قرار دهد.
با توجه به آنچه آمد، بی بديل بودن اين اثر از يکسو و خطراتی که ممکن
است برای آن پيش آيد، از سوی ديگر، ضرورت ثبت آن در «حافظه ی ميراث
جهانی» را به شدت مطرح می کند. يقيناً خود جنابعالی، که از علاقمندان
به ميراث های تاريخی و فرهنگي جهانی هستيد، اطلاع داريد که، بر اساس
پيش بينی های مندرج در بنيادنامه ی «حافظه ی ميراث جهانی» که 15 سال
پيش از سوی يونسکو تنظيم و اعلام شده، اين «گل نوشته» قابليت ثبت در
حافظه ی ميراث جهانی را دارد.
عاليجناب،
ما، به عنوان نهادی غير سياسی و داوطلبانه، که عاشقانه در راه حفظ و
نجات محوطه ها و آثار باستانی ايران کهن می کوشيم، از شما تقاضا داريم
که، به خاطر مالکيت قانونی کشورتان بر منشور کورش بزرگ، پرونده ی اين
اثر گرانبهای بشری را که پيشاهنگ انديشه ی صلح طلبی، عدم خشونت، آزادی
مذاهب و ممنوعيت برده داری و بيگاری است، برای ثبت در حافظه ميراث
جهانی به يونسکو بفرستيد تا پيش بينی های لازم برای جاودانه کردن اين
اثر و محتوای آن بعمل آيد

Sir
As the highest responsible authority supervising over one of the
most important archeological collections of the world, you have an
ancient cylinder amongst the human treasures situated in your
country. Although it originally belongs to the Persian nation and
the country of Iran and is presently owned by your country according
to the international laws, it actually is considered as a part of
human heritage, belonging to the whole humankind’s civilization.
Naturally, you are both aware and practically involved in its proper
protection and safe-keeping
This unique artifact, known as Cyrus the Great Cylinder and The
First Human Rights Declaration, is considered as one of the rarest
human creations - both due to the elevated historical position of
its creator and its significant content - and suitably safe guarded
by the British Museum, is nevertheless, in danger of extinction
because of its occasional displacements
Therefore, the uniqueness of this artifact on one hand, and the
dangers that threatens it, on the other, necessitates its
registration with the “World Heritage Memory.”
As you certainly
are aware, 15 years ago UNESCO established this registry to preserve
precious humankind treasures and, based on the provisions provided
by this establishment, Cyrus’s cylinder can and should be registered
with the
“World
Heritage Memory
As a non-profit, non-political and volunteer organization that
lovingly endeavors to preserve and salvage the threatened
archeological and cultural sites and artifacts of Ancient Iran, we
appeal to your kind attention - as the owner of this cylinder – to
consider taking this most important step and register this
invaluable symbol of peace, non-violence, freedom of faith and
abandonment of slavery in the history of human civilization with the
“World Heritage Memory” so that necessary actions could be taken for
it’s preservation.
